EUA’s governing bodies are:

• a Board elected for four years, comprising nine current or former rectors, including a President and two Vice-Presidents who constitute the Presidency
  
  > the Board is responsible for developing the Association’s policy and work programme and for its implementation together with the Secretary General
  
  
• a Council constituted by the Presidents of the National Rectors’ Conferences
  
  > adopts EUA policies and positions and defines its priorities
  
  
• an annual General Assembly of all members
  
  > elects the President and Board and determines the strategic direction of the Association
