EUA Member Consultation on Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020

Member consultation_thumbnailIn spring 2016, EUA conducted a consultation of its membership on the interim progress of the two major EU funding programmes for research and higher education: Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+. This consultation was launched by EUA ahead of the official mid-term review of these two programmes. The aim was to develop a comprehensive view of the university sector in time for European-level discussions on the future of Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ and their post-2020 successors. The consultation included two surveys designed for each programme and a series of discussions with EUA members.

In total, 277 higher education institutions from 36 countries across Europe participated in the EUA member consultations. The findings are presented in two reports:

EUA is grateful to the respondents for their active participation in the consultation. The obtained feedback will be used to help improve the functioning of Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ through multiple channels, including the ongoing public stakeholder consultation on Horizon 2020, launched by the European Commission in October 2016, and the upcoming public consultation on Erasmus+ scheduled to be launched in March 2017, as well as future discussions on the next generation of the two programmes. The results also feed into EUA’s general work to support evidence-based policy-making in the fields of research, innovation and higher education.

EUA is open for discussion of the consultation results with its members or any other interested stakeholders. Further questions about the outcomes of the EUA consultation on Horizon 2020 and Erasmus+ can be sent to
