DOC-CAREERS II Report Launch Event

University-Business Partnerships in Doctoral Education: Working for the future

Hosted by the Mission of Switzerland to the European Union, Brussels, Belgium

4 November 2015

  • EUA is organising an event to launch the publication of the report entitled ‘Collaborative Doctoral Education in Europe: Research Partnerships and Employability for Researchers’, an output of the FP7 project Promoting Collaborative Doctoral Education for Enhanced Career Opportunities - DOC-CAREERS II.

The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the contexts and conditions to successfully establish and take forward collaborative doctoral education. It also explores the employment prospects in the non-academic sector for doctoral holders, namely through the business sector perspective. The presentation of the report and the following discussion will focus on the value of doctorate holders for the development of European societies and on the current and future role of doctoral education in the academic and non-academic sectors.

The event will take place on 4 November 2015 and will be kindly hosted by the Mission of Switzerland to the European Union. The event will be opened by the Swiss Ambassador to the European Union, Mr Roberto Balzaretti. The presentation and discussion session will be chaired by Professor David Drewry, EUA Vice-President and Chair of the EUA Research Policy Working Group (RPWG).

To register for the event, please contact Minna Peltola ( by 30 October 2015.
