Participate in the EUA Refugees Welcome Map Survey: your initiative counts!
18 December 2015
EUA has recently launched a survey to showcase the commitment of universities in supporting refugee students, academics and university staff. Higher education institutions in almost all European countries are responding to the refugees arriving in Europe by providing them shelter, advice and assistance in dealing with local authorities, and helping them to participate in cultural and sport activities.
Through the survey, EUA aims to collect and present information on the initiatives of European universities, their staff and students. The information will be made available in an interactive format through the EUA Refugees Welcome Map which will be launched in 2016. The map will be constantly updated with new information.
The EUA Refugees Welcome Map will make European universities’ initiatives for refugees more visible to society at large and policy makers in particular. It will serve as a platform for exchange of good practice and for dissemination of information, for instance on collaboration and funding opportunities. It also aims to encourage future cooperation and peer learning on how to respond to the refugee crisis. This EUA initiative can also help facilitate partnerships between institutions, as it allows survey participants to indicate whether they are interested in direct exchange and cooperation with other individual institutions and organisations.
EUA is offering the higher education institutions across Europe the possibility to add their organisations’ initiatives to the map by participating in a brief survey, which should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
