3rd UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event: Call for contributions deadline extended

20 October 2016

The UNI-SET consortium has extended the deadline for the call for contributions for the 3rd Energy Clustering Event, “Universities in the Energy Transition: Focus on Smart Energy Systems and Communities.” Submissions will now be accepted until 28 October 2016.

uniset logoThe event, which will be hosted by University Politehnica of Bucharest in Romania from 21 to 23 November 2016, will be a platform for high-level discussions and for identifying partners in higher education and research in the fields of Smart Energy Systems and Communities. The event is organised in the framework of the UNI-SET project. It aims to mobilise the European university community to tackle energy and climate challenges.

A further objective is to create thematic roadmaps for universities on “Smart Energy Systems with the Consumer at the Centre”, in the particular areas of energy systems, smart cities and communities and energy consumers. Through these roadmaps, UNI-SET aims to support universities in contributing to and being aware of opportunities within the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) and the Energy Union.

Participants at the event will also have the opportunity to generate and shape policy positions from the university community on future European funding for research and higher education in the field of energy, in particular Horizon 2020 and the next framework programme (FP9).

The Energy Clustering Event will also provide a platform for the exchange of best practices on adapting the curricula and teaching methodologies of energy-related educational programmes. Through the call for contributions, universities can submit presentations on innovative programmes and best practices to share at the conference.

EUA encourages all university leaders in the field of energy to take an active part in the conference.
