Those wishing to participate in the 4th UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event are still in time to register. Hosted by Imperial College London on 27 and 28 March 2017, the event theme is “Universities in the Energy Transition: Focus on Sustainable Transport and Carbon Capture, Storage & Use.” The deadline to register is 13 March 2017.
Participants will have an opportunity to discuss institutional approaches towards long-term solutions to face the energy challenge. In particular, they will contribute to the generation of recommendations for universities concerning two main priorities of the EU’s SET-Plan, namely “Sustainable Transport” and “Carbon Capture Storage and Use”. Recommendations will be in line with the priorities of the “Roadmap for European Universities in Energy” published in December 2016.
The conference programme offers more than ten discussion sessions, including three clustering sessions on the development of new and cross-disciplinary research and education ideas. Four parallel sessions will facilitate mutual learning and exchange of best practices in the fields of sustainable and renewable fuels, electric vehicles and e-mobility, carbon capture and storage, collaboration and partnerships. Finally, three outlook sessions will aim to develop a forward-looking vision on these topics. A final round table will feature a debate on how to better communicate energy-related issues among scientists as well with the society at large.
Speakers at the event will include university leaders and representatives of public national bodies, such as Transport for London, the European Commission, several companies, and European networks like POLIS and Science Business.
This Energy Clustering Event is the fourth in a series of six events devoted to university activities in the field of energy, organised in the framework of the FP7 UNI-SET project, led by EUA in partnership with KU Leuven and other universities in InnoEnergy. More information on registration and the programme can be seen on the event webpage.
