Time is running out to register for the 4th UNI-SET event, “Universities in the Energy Transition: Focus on Sustainable Transport and Carbon Capture, Storage & Use,” to be hosted by Imperial College London on 27 and 28 March 2017. The deadline to register is 13 March.
The conference offers more than ten discussion sessions, with opportunities to create new and cross-disciplinary research and education ideas, mutual learning and exchange of best practices of research and education. The main themes are sustainable and renewable fuels, electric vehicles and e-mobility, carbon capture and storage, collaboration and partnerships. Several “outlook sessions” aim to develop forward-looking visions on these topics. A final panel discussion will focus on energy- and sustainability-related science communication and public engagement between scientists and society at large.
Speakers include university and industry leaders and representatives of public bodies, such as UKERC, Shell, the European Commission and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. More information and registration instructions can be found on the event webpage.
For the forthcoming 5th UNI-SET event, “Science & Skills for Renewables Integration,” the call for presentations has been launched. Proposals should be based on good practices in research, education and institutional practices on the conference theme. Hosted by KU Leuven in Belgium, the event will take place from 31 May until 2 June 2017. The deadline for call submissions is 7 April.
