6th Asia-Europe Foundation Rector’s Conference (ARC6): invitation to participate

07 September 2017

The 6th Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum will be hosted by the Singapore Management University, on 9-13 October. Under the title ‘Future-ready Universities and Graduates: Quality Education Beyond the Horizon’, ARC6 will offer an experiential conference setting, which fuses content-focused dialogues with interactive networking sessions and practical workshops.

ARC6 will bring together about 200 university leaders, higher education experts, students, policy makers and business representatives, from 51 Asian and European countries, to connect, exchange practices, and explore possibilities of cooperation for both regions. Conference highlights include tri-sector dialogues between university, business and student leaders, Q&A sessions with education ministers from Asia and Europe, and leadership-swap workshops on three sub-topics: (i) interdisciplinarity in education and research; (ii) lifelong learning; (iii) access to quality education.

ARC6 consists of 2 programme elements: the Students’ Forum (9-11 October) and the Rectors’ Conference (12-13 October). EUA, together with the ASEAN University Network (AUN), will lead the development of the Rectors’ Conference policy recommendations, which will be conveyed to the next Asian-European Ministers’ Meeting (ASEM ME), to be held in November in Seoul.

EUA would like to encourage European university leaders to participate in ARC6, and positively respond to the invitation process launched by ASEF. Expressions of interest can also be communicated to
