    Participants from the European Higher Education Area are still in time to register for the Fourth Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education (AECHE 4). Focused on research collaboration and capacity building among Arab and European universities, the event will be hosted by Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco from 24 to 26 April 2017.


    EUA’s Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) will hold a webinar to provide insight into how the Programme works and how institutions can benefit from taking part in an evaluation. The webinar will take place on 26 April at 14.00 CEST.


    The 4th UNI-SET Energy Clustering Event, "Universities in the Energy Transition: Focus on Sustainable Transport and Carbon Capture, Storage & Use," took place at Imperial College London in the UK on 27 and 28 March 2017. The event was organised by EUA and KU Leuven, which represents universities in EIT InnoEnergy.


    The EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE) is accepting proposals for contributions to its 2017 Annual Meeting, “Doctoral Education and Harnessing Digital Possibilities.” The event will be hosted by Tallinn University in Estonia on 15 and 16 June 2017.


    EUA is extremely shocked and deeply concerned by the decision taken on 4 April 2017 by the Hungarian Parliament to adopt the recently proposed amendments to the Hungarian Education Law, targeting the Central European University.


    This week EUA relaunches a crucial and timely European-wide dialogue on university autonomy. On the eve of its Annual Conference 2017, on this very topic, EUA would like to underline the importance of universities as independent and open communities of scholars and to express its concern about the increasing tendency of national governments to interfere in university autonomy and academic freedom.
