A very Happy New Year from everyone at EUA!

EUA wishes all its newsletter readers a very happy and successful 2012. We have a number of exciting events and activities planned for the next months. Here is just a selection of events to look forward to.

More information on EUA’s events will be published through the newsletter and the EUA events website.

In terms of its policy work, EUA will continue to influence the outcomes of European level policy debates on key issues that impact both at national level on the work of national university associations and for the association’s individual member universities. It will be particularly important in 2012 to continue lobbying work to ensure that the voice of the European universities is heard as negotiations continue on the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2014 – 2020 (covering both the Erasmus for All and Horizon 2020 programmes).

One important step in this process will be the presence of the European Commissioners with responsibility for research and education at EUA’s upcoming Council meeting which will allow members of EUA Council from across Europe to exchange points of view with them. EUA will also be representing its member universities at the Bologna ministerial meeting in Bucharest, Romania (26 -27 April), and at the Global University Summit that will be held this year in the United States.

EUA underpins all its policy work and activities with a wide range of projects that focus on the collection and analysis of data, comparative reflection on policy development, and the identification of examples of good practice. The project section of our website contains information about all of our ongoing projects and information about relevant opportunities for members to participate in.
