EUA Newsletter 11     21 June 2010

Welcome to the new EUA newsletter, website and members’ community: Message from the EUA President, Jean-Marc Rapp

Welcome to the new-look EUA newsletter which is part of EUA’s new website and ‘members only’ extranet. This integrated IT-platform has been designed to enhance our communications with members and other key higher education stakeholders.

As EUA continues to grow and fulfils its mission as a ‘strong voice for Europe’s universities’, we believe it is necessary to build a platform to improve communication flows to all 850 members about our expanding project, and policy work and events.

The website has been redesigned to represent EUA’s policy and project work better and make it easier to find information. As you will see, the four key buttons across the top of the homepage make it easier and quicker to find information on all EUA activities. An integral part of this website will be this new-look e-newsletter which has been redesigned to create a more coherent news structure for all EUA news, and will provide the possibility of including more comprehensive updates from the ‘European institutions’ based in Brussels and HE developments from outside Europe.

EUA members can now access the new extranet or ‘EUA Community’. The community will be the meeting place where members can find out everything they need to know about forthcoming EUA events and meetings, download EUA documents, and soon will be able to directly update their contact and institution details online. This community area is also designed to be an interactive space to network and exchange with other members and EUA. We will soon be launching a forum where you can leave messages and ideas and you will also be able to use our new extended member directory to locate other experts and potential partners.

We hope you will play an active role in using this new platform and take part in all future EUA activities.
