Bologna Promoters - who are they? Print Email this page

Bologna Promoters are professionals active in higher education. These range from Vice-Rectors, Deans, Senior Academics and Directors of Study to International Relations Officers, Higher Education Experts, and Student representatives. On a peer-to-peer basis, they advise and work with their colleagues on the implementation of the Bologna reforms.

In 2004-2005, Ministries of Education selected Promoters upon the proposal of Socrates-Erasmus National Agencies. This selection took into account the advice given by the National Rectors’ Conference in each country.

  • Quality Assurance (Internal and External);
  • The Three-Cycle System (Curricular Reform, National and European Qualifications Frameworks, Tuning);
  • Recognition (ECTS, Diploma Supplement, EUROPASS, Lisbon Recognition Convention and mobility issues).

For each of these, a National Academic Contact Point (NACP) was designated as the main contact person on the topic.
