Prof. Dr. Ing. Zdeněk KůsProf. Zdeněk Kůs is currently the Rector of the Technical University of Liberec. Prior to this position, he served as the Vice-Rector of the University and the Chair of the Academic Senate of the University.

Professor Kůs received his PhD at the Faculty of Textile Engineering of the Technical University of Liberec in 1996. In 2000 he was appointed the Associate Professor and subsequently Professor in Textile Technology in 2006. In his research, Professor Kůs focuses on computer technology applications in clothing and textile productions, simulations of manufacturing processes in textile production and development of measurement methods for textile materials and products. 

Professor Kůs has held various leadership roles at the university, academic associations and government commissions, among others including the Czech Rectors Conference. He is currently in his third term of office as its Vice-President for creative activities and also the President of its Chamber of Public and State Higher Education Institutions. He also represented the Czech Rectors Conference in the Council of the European University Association (2012-2016) and he works as the current President of the Academic Coordination Centre (ACC) in the territory of the Czech-German-Polish borders in the Euro-region Neisse.
In February 2016 the Czech Republic government appointed him a member of the Research, Development and Innovation Council (advisory body of the government).
