The Bologna Handbook, published by EUA, in cooperation with Raabe academic publishers in Berlin, is a practically-oriented and flexible tool designed to support higher education professionals, both academic and administrative, in introducing and implementing all aspects of the Bologna Process in their institution.
The publication is a "must" for all those managing and implementing these important reforms within higher education institutions and systems, be it at the institutional, faculty, departmental or administrative level, or from a student perspective. The Bologna Handbook is of direct practical use to those responsible for strategic, development, planning, curricular reform, internationalisation, or management and administration of higher education institutions.
Focus
The Handbook focuses on:
- Understanding Bologna in context
- Introducing Bologna objectives and tools
- Implementing Bologna in your institution
- Moving beyond Bologna: what about the future of the European Higher Education Area?
Format
The publication consists of a series of specially commissioned articles on the full range of the Bologna action lines. The articles are written by leading practitioners and experts in each field, and concentrate on the concrete implementation of the different elements of the Bologna reforms within higher education institutions. The Handbook has been designed to be "hands-on", addressing the whys, whats, and hows for each element of the Process. It also includes case studies and identifies examples of good practice in relation to each of the topics covered.
It takes the form of a loose-leaf folder with a first set of articles, followed by regular updates. It has a clear overall structure that looks at the Bologna Process as a whole from the perspective of higher education institutions, and is geared to the needs of higher education teachers and administrators in their daily work.
